Gaza authorities have renewed their demand for the immediate opening of the Rafah Crossing, warning that the continued Israeli closure is accelerating a deepening humanitarian and environmental catastrophe across the Gaza Strip.

As conditions worsen by the hour, aid agencies say the failure to restore access to southern Gaza is pushing displaced families, hospitals, and relief efforts to the brink of total collapse.

Since Oct. 7, 2023, Israel has killed 70,103 people in Gaza and injured 170,985 others, the majority of whom are women and children, the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza reports.
