warholdollar2Aug. 17, 2024 (World News Trust) -- Stocks gained Friday on U.S. markets after a rally Thursday erased losses from this month's sell-off.

It was the best week of the year for all of the major indexes and the best week for stocks since November.

The Nasdaq closed up about 0.2 percent Friday after rallying more than 2 percent Thursday. The S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average also rose about 0.2 percent..

A data release Friday shows consumer sentiment rose in August, rebounding for the first time in five months.
