A nine-month-old baby girl died from extreme cold inside displacement tents in Khan Yunis, as temperatures plunged during a severe winter storm.
Her death comes as Israeli forces continue to violate the ceasefire, deepening the humanitarian emergency facing hundreds of thousands of displaced Palestinians.
Since Oct. 7, 2023, Israel has killed 70,360 and injured 171,047 others, the majority of whom are women and children, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza.

PALESTINIAN MEDIA: Gaza’s emergency services reported several injuries after Israeli artillery fire targeted areas outside Israeli military deployment zones in Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza.
GAZA GOVERNMENT MEDIA OFFICE: The Gaza Media Office said US claims of 600 trucks entering Gaza daily are misleading. Since the ceasefire took effect, only 14,534 trucks out of 37,200 expected have entered—an average of just 234 trucks per day, reflecting a compliance rate of 39%.
GAZA HEALTH MINISTRY: The ministry warned that each new storm brings life-threatening risks, amid severe shortages of chronic-disease medications. It reported that 9,300 children in Gaza are suffering from acute malnutrition, with cold weather opening “a new door to death.”

GAZA GOVERNMENT MEDIA OFFICE: According to Ismail al-Thawabta, more than 1.5 million displaced people face severe humanitarian hardship. Over 22,000 tents have been completely damaged, and only 20,000 of the 300,000 urgently needed tents have been allowed in.
